Allocate Resources Directly on Work Task or Request Work Task

Explanation

Use this activity to allocate resources required to execute a work task directly on Work Task or Request Task, when the resource demand for the relevant task is not defined. 

Prerequisites

General prerequisites are listed in Maintenance Resource Setup. 

Duration must have been defined for the work task. 

If a visit chain is to be created, then the work task should be set as Allow Multiple Visits selected. 

To filter resource with competency and certificates, Access Role with attributes for PERS_COMP_RO and PERS_LIC_RO and with flag Limited Access should be created for the person in Human Capital Management/HCM Services/HCM Access Setup/Access Role Configuration/Access Role. 

Resources can be allocated to work in the following places: 

• Active Work Orders page - expand the menu (on top of the page) Assign or Allocate. 
• Work Tasks/Work Task page - click the menu (on top of the page) and expand the menu Assign or Allocate/Allocate Resource. 
• Work Tasks/Work Task page – Navigate to the resources tab, select the relevant resource, and click on Allocate Resource/Assign Work. 
• Prepare Work Order page - expand the menu Assign or Allocate. 
• Request Work Tasks page – Select the work task, click on Assign Work 
• Request Work Task Scheduling and Allocation page - Select the work task, click on Assign Work 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, work assignments will be created for the resources and the work tasks will be considered allocated.  Each work assignment will be set with an Allocated To, Allocated Start and an Allocated Finish time. The work assignments will be created in Assigned status.
