Create Pick List
Explanation
When handling customer orders with stored sales parts, they need to be reserved
and picked on a specific inventory location. Whenever the parts are reserved,
a pick list needs to be created and printed in order to inform the packing staff
of what and how much to pick for each specific order.
There is one pick list is created for each location group.
Customer order lines that have the Shipment Creation option set to
At Pick List Creation, will be connected to a shipment during the creation
of the pick list. For these order lines the created pick list will always be
created as a consolidated pick list per shipment ID. Note, from now one whether
or not to print the pick list automatically in the flow, will be controlled
by the shipment type instead of the order type. The pick list must be printed
manually.
If a pick list has been created, and you no longer want to
pick and deliver the entire reserved quantity, it is possible
to change this in the Report
Picking of Pick List Lines
page. For inventory parts, query
for the order in question and enter the required quantity in the Qty to Pick
field. For inventory parts click Report Picking of Pick List Lines. Click
OK in the dialogs that are displayed. The quantity you do not want to
pick is no longer reserved.
Prerequisites
- The customer order line(s) must have been reserved.
- Order lines must have the Shipment Creation option set to
At Pick List Creation in order to be connected to a shipment.
- Incomplete packages will only be possible to be added to a pick
list, when the Allow Incomplete Packages at Reservation and Pick List
Creation setting is enabled in package part page and the backorder
options that allows to deliver incomplete packages is used
System Effects
- Pick list will be generated for every location group and will be ready
to be printed via the
Print Pick List
page.
- Depending on the backorder option selected for the customer orders and
package parts, it will not be possible to create pick lists for partially
reserved orders and order lines. It should be noted that the backorder option
feature applies only to inventory sales parts.
- No changes can be done to the reservation when the pick list is created.
- Depending on the shipment creation option, order lines will be connected
to an existing applicable shipment or a new shipment, and the pick list(s)
will be created as a consolidated pick list per shipment ID. The reservation
is transferred from the customer order line to the shipment when connected
to shipment.
- For order lines connected to a shipment, any optional events, defined
to be executed at pick list creation in the shipment flow, will be triggered.
Then the next event in the shipment flow will be triggered if the shipment
type allows this.
