Exempt Tool
Explanation
Use this activity to exempt tools from the Manufacturing Scheduling
and Optimization (MSO) scheduling service. When tools are exempted,
no tool-related data will be sent to the IFS Planning Scheduling and
Optimization (PSO) scheduling engine. As a result, tool will not be
a scheduling constraint when operations are finitely scheduled.
Prerequisites
- MSO solution uses IFS Planning Scheduling and Optimization (PSO)
solution based tenant as its scheduling service. Therefore, it is mandatory
to have a configured PSO scheduling server in the backend to execute this
activity.
- Site must be defined, and the User is allowed to use any authorized
manufacturing Site which is required to reschedule considering finite constraints.
- Site should be disabled on Finite Schedule Basic Data
page to enable this option.
System Effects
- Shop orders will be finitely scheduled without considering the tool
constraints of the site instead, only work centers and labor will be considered
as scheduling constraints.
- When tools are exempted, no tool related information will be available
on Smart Manufacturing Planning Board page.
