The KPI Catalog facilitates comprehensive management of sustainability KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) includes with system-defined KPIs adhering to the European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS) under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The catalogue supports the creation and management of custom KPIs, enabling businesses to tailor KPIs to their specific sustainability objectives
Pre-defined KPIs are designed to address broader industry needs, but not all of them are relevant to every business. Activate only the KPIs that are applicable to your organization or business. Once activated, these KPIs can be incorporated into your sustainability plan.
When a KPI is selected for reporting, it is designated as a main KPI, ensuring that only active main KPIs are directly added to the sustainability plan.
Some KPIs contain linked KPIs, indicating that their output is derived from multiple elements, each represented as another KPI.
System-defined KPIs are pre-configured within the application, categorized according to European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the latest release of the ESRS can be accessed through the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) official website.
IFS manages these KPIs, which do not modify but can activate for use in sustainability reporting or kept inactive if irrelevant. They are categorized by KPI category, KPI group, and output type, such as qualitative or quantitative KPIs.
Custom KPIs are created from scratch or by copying existing KPIs.
KPI automation is available only for Quantitative KPIs and can be divided into two as
System-defined Automated KPIs are designed to generate measurements based on data retrieved from the IFS application product module. This KPI automation process utilizes Workload Jobs as detailed in the technical documentation here. For each automated KPI, the calculation method is specified in the Calculation Method field.
Selections
Some KPIs offer configurability to a certain extent by allowing the selection of input fields within the relevant product area to define the KPI. This configurability is particularly useful when no direct field is available to represent the required information. For example, if the KPI involves calculating the total number of employees, "employee" becomes a selection criterion. This criterion can be set using global basic data, such as IFS/Employee type, and configured to determine which values qualify as an employee.
Dimensions
Dimensions are another type of information available for automated KPIs, representing parameters that allow data exposure. When managing the entity structure within a sustainability plan, if an entity type is not defined as a dimension for the KPI, the KPI record is disregarded, and no measurement is calculated.
KPI Data sources
KPI data sources are also integral to system-defined Automated KPIs, indicating the origin of the data used for KPI calculations. A single data source may link to multiple KPIs, and these data sources cannot be altered. When incorporating external data, it is crucial to organize it according to the specified KPI data sources to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
If a custom-defined KPI requires automation, it can be customized using workflow configuration, as detailed in the technical documentation here. Selections and dimensions are available to set up for custom-defined automated KPIs if needed.
