In this process activity it is important for the user to integrate devices with sensors using an IoT Edge Node or application Platform As A Service to IFS IoT Controller. IoT begins with devices or communication objects generating some form of data. The data can be everything from sensor measurements to web browser click patterns of users. The number of different asset types that can generate data is massive and can be vary widely from an aircraft to an oil pipeline. The single sensor on an asset can send data individually as well as the asset might group its sensor data and send a collection of measurements to the next step. The capabilities of devices vary a lot. Thus, any IoT Edge Node or application Platform can be used to collect, analyze and send (integrate devices) relevant sensor data as observations to IFS IoT Controller. But any device that can handle HTTPS protocol should be able to send data directly to IoT Controller.
