Define Warranties for Object

Explanation

This activity defines customer warranties on a Service Object. Keeping track of warranties given to a customer for a sold product/object is important to ensure that a customer is given the service they are entitled to when the object fails. 

The warranty can be created on the Service Object either by copying an existing Customer Warranty Template or by manually adding warranty without using a template. When a Model is associated with a Service Object, the warranties defined on the Model with a Service Coverage defined, will be copied (instantiated on) to the Service Object from the model.

If the Service Object under warranty breaks/fails and needs repair, a Request can be initiated and the warranty will be automatically applied on the Request Scope(s).

As a result of this activity, a warranty will be added on the Service Object. When the Service Object is used in a Request Scope, the warranties within the validity period can be applied on the scope.
