Define Skills for Object

Explanation

This activity is used to define skill requirements for a Service Object. It is possible to specify competencies, certificates or skills on a Service Object. If there is a Model connected to the Service Object, the skills of the Model will be inherited and displayed. It is possible to decide which Demand Types e.g. Person, Tool/Equipment and Crew the skill should apply to. All Demand Types are by default set to Yes. When the Service Object is associated with a Work Task, all existing resource demands matching the enabled types will inherit the skill requirements from the Service Object. It is possible to add Skill Levels when you define a skill requirement.

The attribute Share with Corequisite is used in scheduling to control whether all resources performing a group of tasks (all starting at the same time) must have the required skills, or if it's enough for just one resource in the group to have them. If set to Yes, the value will be inherited to the Work Task to control scheduling behavior.

Action on inherited Certificate/Competency Result
Exclude The inherited skill will be excluded from the service objects.
Include (Only available if the skill is already excluded from Model) The exclusion will be revoked. An inclusion can only happen at the same level where the exclusion was applied before.

Further, certificates and competencies attached to the service object directly (not the ones inherited from model) can be deleted.

Notes:

  1. The skills added in respective (all) levels cannot be duplicated. E.g. Certificate 3 added to the Model1, cannot be added again.

  2. The skills inherited and excluded in respective (all) levels cannot be duplicated. E.g.: when Certificate 3 is inherited and was excluded, Certificate 3 cannot be added again.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the skills required to work on the object will be defined and will used when assigning resources to tasks for the object. The skills that are directly added to the object and the skills that have a non-excluded inheritance in the service object will be copied as service work task resource demands when the object is connected to a service work task.
