Define Service Warranties

Explanation

This activity is used to define a set of applicable warranties for a Model. Model warranties can be defined with or without a Warranty Template. When Service Objects are created with a Model, the Model Warranties that has a Service Coverage defined, will be copied (instantiated) and it will be possible to view the warranty information directly from the object.

It is important to note that the warranties attached to a model are templates used when creating objects and are not considered valid warranty records on request scopes, when request scopes are created for models.

Prerequisites

• To create a warranty from a template, the template should be available in the Service Warranty Template page.
• The SLA Template should exist in the SLA Template page.
• The Price Rule should exist in Price Rule page.
• Services to add in Service Coverage should be defined as service items in the Service Catalog page.

System Effects

As a result of this action, warranties applicable for the model will be established.
