Package Fault
Explanation
You need to package a fault in the following scenarios:
- A fault raised on the
Raise Fault page, but the flight during which it was found was
not defined.
- A deferred fault that has
not been assigned to a work package.
To package a fault, go
to the Open
Faults or Deferred
Faults tab
on the Aircraft Turn Details page.
Prerequisites
- An open or deferred fault that has not been assigned to a work
package.
- Maintenance location types and maintenance locations must be defined in
Aviation Maintenance/Basic Data.
System Effects
- If a work package for the aircraft turn exists, the fault is packaged to it.
- If there is no existing work package for the aircraft turn, a new
work package for the turn is created.
- When a new work package is created, it is created in the Active
status, with an auto-generated number and named using the following
format: Packaged Faults + [date of packaging]. It is scheduled to a LINE
location, or TRACK if no LINE locations are found at the aircraft’s
current location or arrival location. The scheduled start date and
scheduled end date of the work package are set to the scheduled arrival
time of the arrival flight.
- A task corresponding to the fault is created, assigned to the work
package for the turn and can be viewed as a work task from the
Aircraft
Turn Details page.
- Tools, parts, and skill requirements, if specified on the fault, are
copied to the resulting work task.
