Add Part Requirement

Explanation

When working on a task or fault, you might need to use parts to complete your work.

You can add parts for a task on the Task Details page, and for a fault on the Fault Details page.

When the Config Slot field on the Add Part page is set to Mandatory, it indicates that the part is designated for a mandatory configuration slot within an aircraft, i.e., the part must be installed.

Adding a part by barcode

You can only perform this procedure online, through the mobile application.

  1.  Open the Task Details or Fault Details page and select Add Part.
  2.  Select the barcode icon in the Barcode field. The iPad camera opens.
  3.  If you are in a low-lit area, select Flash to activate the camera flash.
  4. Scan the barcode on the part serviceability tag using the camera.
  5.  If the barcode is scanned successfully, the barcode appears in the Barcode field. If the barcode scanning fails, enter the barcode using the keypad.
  6.  Select Done.
    1.  If the barcode matches any inventory in IFS-Maintenix, part details are filled automatically. If the part belongs to more than one part group or has more than one assembly position or position, select the most suitable option.
    2.  For batch parts, enter the quantity.
    3.  If the barcode does not match any inventory in IFS-Maintenix, you can proceed to add a part using an alternative method or scan a barcode of an inventory part registered in IFS-Maintenix.
  7.  Select whether you want to add part installation and part removal records.
    1. Part installation record is selected by default for all part types.
    2. If a part installation or removal record already exists for the same position and configuration slot on the task, you cannot add another part installation or removal record for that position and slot.
    3. For non-repairable batch parts, you can only add an installation record.
  8. (Optional) If a part removal record was added in the previous step, select the reason for removing the part.
Note: If you do not select the part removal reason when adding a part, you need to select it when recording work for the part removal.
  9. Click Finish.
    Note:
If you enter an incorrect ASSY or TRK part, a warning will appear. If configured, you won't be able to proceed.
  10. If the aircraft is in maintenance at your airport, click OK to sign for the part installation or part removal, or both.
    1. If the fault is not packaged, you will not be prompted to sign for part installation or removal.
    2. If you have not specified the part removal reason, you will not be prompted to sign for the part removal.

    4. If the part is for a configuration slot with multiple positions, select the position.
  6. (Optional) If a part removal record was added in the previous step, select the reason for removing the part.

  7. Select Finish.

If the part change has not been signed off, you can remove the part requirement.
