Cascade Objectives :- Revise Cascading Objectives and Details

Cascading objectives allow a supervisor to distribute some of the objective/general performance targets that are assigned to the supervisor, to his/her respective subordinates. This functionality facilitates the organizational objectives to flow from the top all the way to the last node of the hierarchy.   A supervisor can select an objective that is assigned for him/her and choose to cascade it to any employee the supervisor has access to.

Explanation

The Activity Revise Cascading objectives & Activities is performed to make generic changes to the cascaded objective details before we cascade it to the subordinate employees. The Cascade objectives & Activities assistant can be initiated by selecting an Objective assigned to an employee at My performance Evaluation Details or Performance Evaluation Details and clicking the button “Cascade”

Example: - The performance objective that is assigned to the supervisor may have a target or description “50% growth in annual sales revenue” however, when the supervisor is cascading it to the subordinates, he/she may want to change the description to a value such as "Sales target of 60 Million".

The changes that are performed here will reflect to all the employee’s supervisor selects to cascade (selecting employees explained under the next activity). However, if the supervisor wishes to make individual changes the supervisor can activate the toggle “Manage employees”

Following fields can be changed before the supervisor performs the cascade

Include Activities

If the Supervisor wishes to include the Activities that are attached to the Objective or introduce new Activities to the cascading objective, then “Include Activities” Toggle needs to be activated.

Manage Employees

If the supervisor wishes to make changes to individual employees, the Manage Employees Toggle needs to be activated.
This will enable the “Next” button in the assistant which directs you to a step to manage employee objectives and activities and perform employee wise changes to the cascaded objective descriptions, targets, comments etc.…. (Please note for the next button to be enabled you need to make sure you have selected your employees and Activated “Manage Employees” toggle).

Cascading via Manager Services

The same set of activities mentioned above can be performed using manager services. In this case a user who has access to both the supervisor and the subordinate records will select an objective of the supervisor’s performance evaluation and perform the cascade. (Please refer Activitiy "Select Employees to Cascade" to undersand how access works) In this case the "Cascaded By" column will indicate the supervisors employee number while "Created By" column will indicate who performed this cascade.

Prerequisites

Objectives are created for supervisor employee.

System Effects

New Objectives will be assigned to the selected subordinates.
(As this is a cascaded record, the respective supervisor's employee number (from whom the record was cascaded), performance year and company will be recored as reference in the subordinates cascaded objective)

The Column "Cascaded" will update as "Yes" for the supervisors performance Objective.
