Assign Activities to Individual Employees

Explanation

This activity is used to register and modify the activities connected to an employee objective. Activities are separate tasks that employees need to perform and complete in order to meet the employee objective. E.g.: Key performance indicators (KPIs) for employees can be defined as activities. These key performance indicators will show employee's progress towards strategic goals for a department, discipline, professional area or company operation. Setting periods to review activities helps in managing employee performance and assuring that the employee development is on time.

Activities can be assigned to an employee using Employee Activities or Performance Evaluation Details.

If you use Employee Activities, the activity and the connected objective are required to be already created in the Predefined Objectives and Activities. Performance Periods and Performance Status have to be already defined in the system as well.

If you use Performance Evaluation Details, you will need to select the employee and performance period first. To assign objectives to the employee, select the New Activity option under Objectives & Activities, which will guide you to a New Activity assistant. You can select a predefined activity using the list if the activity has been connected to the objective in Predefined Objectives and Activities. You can also define a New Activity ID (which is not predefined) for the employee.

Specify the target to achieve in the Target field. Specify the activity weight in the Weight field. Note that the total of all activities should reach a value of 100 percent. Therefore, the weight of one activity is a percentage of the total weight of all activities against which your performance is measured. Enter a description for the activity in the Description field. If you have entered a predefined activity, the activity description will show by default. In the Responsible For Follow Up field, indicate the person who is responsible for the fulfillment of the activity. Select a person using the list. If the field is left blank, the system would generate the employee ID of the person to whom the activity is being assigned. Select a Course (optional) to link to the fulfillment of this activity.

Note: By specifying the number of AI-generated activities in the Activity Count field on the Input Sources for AI Enhanced Objectives and Activities page, specified number of activities will be generated with AI, based on the selected objective description and target. In order to perform this task, AI services must be enabled in the application.

 

Prerequisites

To assign activities via Employee Activities, the activity is required to be already created in the Predefined Objectives and Activities. Performance Periods and Performance Status have to be already defined in the system as well.

To assign a course to the employee's activity in New Activity assistant, the course must have been created in Course Specification.

System Effects

The newly assigned activity will be displayed in both Employee Activities and Performance Evaluation Details.
