Enter Details to Upload Model

Explanation

This activity is used to start the Upload Analysis Model page and initiate the process of Uploading the Analysis Model into the desired target Power BI workspace (based on the available provisioned target workspaces). The Upload Model option is available in the Analysis Models page.

1.If an IFS Delivered model is to be uploaded,

Model Overwrite dialog box appears in below scenarios:

2.If a Non-IFS delivered model is to be uploaded,

Selecting the Browse option enables uploading the Power BI file as .pbix into the IFS Cloud web. If the uploaded Power BI needs to be replaced, Delete option can be used to remove the uploaded file.

When the Model is uploaded as a New model, IFS Cloud web UI takes over the uploaded Power BI file name and displays it in the New Model Display Name field. This can be modified if required.

Prerequisites

To Upload a model, the customized or New Power BI file should be available in a local folder.

To perform this activity, maintaining own Power BI file repo is a must for version controlling.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, Upload Analysis Model page will display a toast message with a banner regarding the upload status. After the defined countdown duration, it will be directed to Analysis Models page. The uploaded Analysis Model will be available in the target Power BI workspace with the defined name (Report and the Semantic Model with the default display name if it’s not modified).

If the Model is uploaded as a New Model, new Analysis Model entry will be added into the Analysis Models list in the Analysis Models page.  Also, the Analysis Model entry status value will be updated to Uploaded.
