Enter Column Selection Details
Explanation
This activity is the second step in creating a new Parquet Data Source
(New Data Source assistant).
After selecting the
Data
Source Details, the second-step details will be populated based on the Data
Source selection during the first step.
- If a Dimension is selected via assistant step one - In the column
selection step, all the source columns will be Included by default.
- If a Fact with a Full Load option is selected via step one - In the
column selection step, all the source columns will be Excluded by
default.
- If a Fact with Incremental Load option is selected via step one - In
the column selection step, all the source columns will be Excluded by
default. And Incremental Load details section will be available to
specify the columns and related fields.
Including and excluding columns can be done based on the requirement. If
the Load Type is Incremental, the Incremental Load Details
field values (Partition Column, Detect Changes Column, Detect Changes
Function, Include Row Count toggle) need to be selected.
Click Save to create the Parquet Data
Source.
Prerequisites
To perform this activity:
- Data Source Details section should be fully
completed (in the assistant step one).
- To set the Incremental Load details, the Load Type should be
selected as Incremental during the assistant's first step.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a dialog box will be displayed providing the
option to Load Data Source as completing the assistant.
- Click Yes to initiate Loading. Close the assistant
and
the Parquet Data Sources page will be displayed. The related
Parquet Data Source entry is created, and an Explicit Load is initiated.
Load status changes from Loading to Success/Error and Refresh history
will be updated accordingly.
- Click No so that the Loading is not initiated.Close
the assistant and the
Parquet Data Source page will be displayed. The related Parquet Data
Source entry is created (not loaded).
