Use this activity to define FMECA Decisions for a failure/degradation mode, such as Repair Parts, Replace Parts, Preventive Actions, Run to Failure, Update Documentation etc.
Input a unique identification (e.g., DEC 01) in the Decision field and provide comprehensive descriptions in the Decision Description field. You can also add additional details in the Note field for clarity.
The Validity field is crucial for tracking the applicability of a decision in FMECA. When creating a maintenance decision, ensure the Validity field is set to YES. During FMECA analysis, only decisions marked as Validity YES will be available in the dropdown menu. If a decision is no longer valid, changing the Validity status to NO will remove it from the dropdown options, ensuring only relevant decisions are considered.
As a result of this activity, a Decision is defined that can be used when performing FMECA.
