Update Affected Order

Explanation

Update an affected order means that the user should do the necessary production changes in started production orders manually. The details of the required production changes are included on the Affected Order page, Order Changes tab.

Update affected order activity should be performed when the Configuration Change Request is set to Approved status.

Update Supply Configuration in DOP orders can be done when the connected configuration change request has the status Approved or Completed.

Once the Update Supply Configuration alarm is solved in the DOP Header, the configuration IDs will be updated on DOP orders and the supply orders if the supply order is started on this level and is affected by the configuration change.

Update of the started production orders where changes are needed for existing components, operations, work guidelines, and tools will not be updated automatically, update of the above objects must be done manually.

These changes are examples of production changes that need to be done manually.

Note that, once the Update Supply Configuration alarm is solved in the DOP Header, if a new supply order is created in Planned status with the new configuration ID and no receipt on any previously started supply orders has been done, the user needs to decide whether to continue with the existing started supply or to use the newly created supply order. The supply order which is not required should be unpegged.

Once the relevant production changes are done in the production orders, the Order Changes record should be set to Completed. This indicates that the necessary order changes are successfully conducted in the affected order.

If it is decided not to apply the order changes, the relevant Order Changes record can be set to Ignore. For example, when a component should not be part of the structure but has already been issued and cannot be removed but if the component can remain in the product, the Order Changes line can be set to Ignore indicating that the suggested change is not needed.

Once all the manual changes are conducted for each order change listed in the Affected Order record, the status can be changed to Completed status.
