While managing organization Unit budgets, there can be requirements to transfer some budgets from one unit to another. The transfer balance activity supports this transfer of budget.
Example
The Overall increment proposed is 5%
during this salary review period. (The % given when generating the plan)
Finance team which has a salary budget of 1000 is supposed to get an
increment of 50
However, the review planning team believes this can be
managed within an increment of 3%.
In this case the HCM Professional
will visit the graphical structure, select Finance Organization Unit, edit
the record and change the proposed 5% increment to 3%.
When this is done you
will notice the column Proposed Increment Amount changes from 50 to 30 and
the Column Balance gets updated as 20.
This is because finance was supposed
to get an increment of 5% which is 50 however this is now changed to 3%
which means finance team now has excess budget of 20.
When there is such
an excess budget this will be reflected positively in the balance column.
Whenever there is a positive balance in an org unit, that balance can be
transferred by clicking the “Transfer Balance” button.
Transfer Balance Dialog
The transfer Balance Dialog will allow the HCM Professional to use a positive balance of an organization unit and transfer all or a selected portion of the balance to another Organization Unit.
