Import GL/IL Balances

Explanation

This activity is used to import balances available in the GL or IL of a selected company to the business planning unit to be used in the business planning process.

The import function support importing of GL/IL balances of the company in which the business plan and planning unit is defined or from another company that is defined under planning entities page with company connection setup to which the user has access to. The GL and IL authority combinations applicable to the logged in user would be considered when importing balances under both scenarios.

The business plan and the planning unit should have the Planning Entity set as Used/ Mandatory (enabled) under the Planning Dimensions tab to be able to import GL/IL balances from multiple companies.

Prerequisites

• Balances should exist in the GL or IL in the respective company to be imported to the planning unit.
• Planning Entities should be properly defined along with the company connection in the Planning Entitles page (found under General Planning Basic Data) to import balances from a different company.
• Code String combinations of the source company (company from which balances are imported from) and the destination company (company to which the balances are imported to) should be equal for the successful import of GL/IL balances in a multi-company scenario.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, GL/IL balances would be imported from the specified company to the planning unit creating new planning transaction rows.
