Technical Records Repository
In some operations, technical records are created in multiple internal or external systems that might have only a partial view of the technical records for an asset. The Technical Records Repository provide is a central storage location where planners, reliability departments, and others can view the full set of historical records for maintenance performed and usage accrued on an aircraft or component.
The Technical Records Repository is an IFS Cloud application that is used in the following solutions:
- A defense operation that uses the co-deployed IFS Cloud - Maintenix solution with Disconnected Operations. Asset records are created in separate Main Operating Base (MOB) and Forward Operating Base (FOB) instances of IFS Cloud. In each instance, when maintenance events are completed, cancelled, or marked as no fault found, or when usage records become historical in Maintenix, the technical records are saved to the local Technical Records Repository. Local records are manually exported from bases to update the instance that houses the central Technical Records Repository. A portion of the technical records are also exported when assets are deployed to another location.
- A solution that uses IFS Maintenix and Forward/Line Maintenance Mobility. Asset records are created in both applications and saved to the repository.
- A solution that includes Forward/Line Maintenance Mobility and an integration with an external maintenance system.
The information displayed in the Technical Records Repository is a sub-set of the historical records that are stored in Maintenix. The following technical records are displayed, in read-only format, in the Technical Records Repository for aircraft and installed or loose components:

Disconnected Operations Scenario
In a deployment scenario, a portion of the technical records are exported with assets that are deployed to bases. By default, the portion is 365 days worth of records. The number of days is configurable. MOB or FOB personnel cannot edit the transferred records. They can edit the records in IFS Maintenix that are created when maintenance and usage are recorded in their location.
If you are in a MOB or FOB, your local TRR does not include the full set of technical records for an asset. Your local TRR includes the following records:
- Records present after initial set-up of the IFS Cloud instance.
- Records imported to your location.
- Records created in your location.
FOBs that are disconnected for extended periods of time, can transfer technical record updates to the central Technical Records Repository.
If you are in the location that houses the central TRR, your view includes all of an asset's technical records except records that are recorded on a disconnected base and not transferred yet to the central TRR.
